Signups are underway NOW for the 2026 Weaverville/Douglas City Parks and Recreation District Junior Lifeguard Program. Participants must be between the ages of 13 and 14 years old and be able to swim the front crawl for 25 yards, tread water for 1 minute using only your legs, back float for 30 seconds and swim 10 feet fully submerged underwater. This course is designed to teach water safety skills as well as introduce participants to the duties and responsibilities of a lifeguard.
