Established in 1954, the Weaverville-Douglas City Recreation District was formed to provide a means of building and maintaining a swimming pool.  The WDC Parks and Recreation District has grown since that time to include additional recreation projects and management of Lee Fong Park.  Current Parks & Rec programs include Flag Football and Basketball.  They also provide feeder support for surrounding private sporting teams and events.
